This image was taken while walking down the Thames river in London on the first day of my trip. The rain had ceased for a bit, and the sun poked through the clouds off and on. This man was enjoying a bit of a break from the rain inside the covered skate park.

I really enjoyed this picture! It doesn’t only capture the man in a skate park, but you can feel what he’s feeling just by looking at this picture. He looks almost sad, or maybe even bored. I don’t rightly know but you can feel a bit of both feelings in the picture itself. I also love the way he works into the background. The background almost makes him stick out more. Keep up the good work with the photos! I’d really love to see more.

Thanks Brittany. I agree – he looks sad or lonely or bored. I enjoy taking pictures that seem to tell a story or set a mood and I think this photo conveys that. I am excited to post more pictures and stories as my journey continues…

I also want to travel the world someday, or at least the European part of it, and I can’t wait to hear about all of the joys and hardships and memories you will have and all of the interesting people you will meet. Thanks Zoe. Europe is a great place to start traveling. It is extremely easy to get around and the people are wonderful. I think though that you will very possibly get the “traveling bug” once you visit Europe. I am excited to share my journey with you and your classmates as I make my way on this trip…
