The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, are probably best known from the movie Entrapment, where the building was featured during a pivotal scene in the film. It is possible, however, that the Towers were not the most memorable scene in the movie. Instead, that honor belongs to Catherine Zeta-Jones, and, uh, you know, her co-star the red lasers.
The Petronas Towers do indeed impress, dominating your field of view up close. The structure was the tallest in the world (from 1998-2004) until overtaken by Taipei 101 in Taiwan (which was in turn overtaken in 2010 by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai).
The Towers are also noteworthy for being scaled by Alain Robert (the French Spider-Man), using nothing but his hands and feet. No safety ropes, no assistance. This man either clearly has issues or proves that genetic mutations resulting in superpowers are entirely possible.
