It’s a miserable, blustery, cold day today in Iowa, but a few days ago I was able to make a trip out to Pine Lake as the sun was setting. I was hoping to catch a few shots of the frozen lake with a nice sunset but missed my chance. I did however manage to catch sight of an owl on the way back into town. It was perched on a power line right next to the road so I made a few passes before finding a temporary parking spot. I hopped out and was only able to snap two quick pictures before it flew away. This is the only picture that turned out. It also turns out I might be obsessed with that owl. So I’ll be making a few more trips out to the lake in the near future. I need a better close-up shot..
